Fantastic Fido's - Supporting, Assisting and Companionship
Wednesday 22nd February - please email soon to book your space.
Fantastic Fido's is designed to help people who would like to train their dogs to help them around the house with every day tasks - such as removing your socks or picking up rubbish, offer calming support when needed, and be a generally well socialised dog to take out and about.
Generally these sessions are held in a community hall by Gloucester park, which allows us to take the training into the park, the docks or around town once at that level.
Sessions are 15:00 to 17:00 on a Monday afternoon and are limited to 4 clients at a time.
Unlike other classes, these are designed with the ultimate goal of achieving a reasonably high level of training, which may take up to a year of attendance.
We therefore will arrange to meet with you before the sessions start to discuss your goals and your dogs suitability. These initial one to one sessions are charged at £80 and include a welcome pack as per our normal initial training sessions.
Fantastic Fido sessions are £30 for the two hours and include a drink and biscuits - and even the odd cake here and there!
Although not working towards the APDT Awards specifically, there is some crossover and the levels will be awarded as and when the exercises are achieved.
On passing the whole course, you will be awarded the Fantastic Fido's rosette and certificate.
Please note - this course does not qualify graduates to become official assistance dogs. If your dog is under 5 years old and you require your dog to be allowed to enter locations where pet dogs are not allowed you will need to register through Dog AID.
