GivE your puppy the "pawfect" start

After teaching puppy classes in a group format for the past decade, we looked at what puppies and their owners need in those early days and how best to meet these needs.

With the traditional group class method you often need to wait until your puppy is 12 weeks old and left to figure it all out for yourself for the first 3 or 4 weeks, with no advice on all the important life skills, house training, leaving the puppy alone, nutrition and so on.

With our new service, we offer advice and support from the moment you bring your puppy home.

For only £245 you get all of the following private training:

Session 1: 2 hour initial session in your home
Session 2: 60-90* minutes Life skills and basic training in your home
Session 3: 60-90* minutes Life skills and basic training in your home
Session 4: 60-90* minutes Life skills and distraction training in the park
Session 5: 60-90* minutes Life skills training and APDT Puppy Test at a pub / cafe
Session 6: one group session at Bishops Cleeve for socialisation with other pups.
Session 7: one social walk in a secure paddock (Tewkesbury or Arlingham, South Gloucester).

as well as 12 weeks email support, a client Facebook group and access to a client resource page on our website.  Upon passing the APDT Good Companion Puppy Award you receive a rosette and certificate.

This is 8 to 10 hours worth of training in total and a saving of up to £100 when compared to booking sessions individually.

*We tend to find that our sessions with "twin" dogs last a little longer than if you just have one puppy.

You also are given a premium welcome bag which includes a satchel, treat pouch, clicker, lots of quality treats, food samples, poo bags, a whistle, a small Pet Remedy spray, useful leaflets and various other items - worth over £30.

We ask for a £90 deposit, at the time of booking, to secure your slot and the balance of £155 is due 48 hours prior to the session commencing.

We work towards the APDT Good Companion Puppy Award and you can achieve a certificate and rosette on passing the test over the last two sessions.

For those starting at 8 weeks of age, your puppy will have completed all of this basic training by the age of 13 or 14 weeks..........this is when most other puppies are starting group classes.

Once this course is complete you are welcome to join our Puppy Progression group classes at Bishops Cleeve or you may wish to continue with private classes.

If continuing straight on with your training you get 10% off so this is only £67.50 for 6 weeks.  If you opt for private training to continue it will be £108 for 4 sessions.

In multi puppy households, there will be a £15 surcharge for each additional puppy if wishing to bring them to the group class.

Additional puppy secure paddock sessions are available at only £8 per walk.  We aim to hold one per month.

Please note that these prices are for clients living within 10 miles from the trainer.  If more that 10 miles the following charges apply per visit:
  • 11-15 miles = £5
  • 16-20 miles = £10
  • 21-25 miles = £15
Mileage is calculated using Google Maps.

We offer 8 private training slots per week - 2 per day, with Helen, on Tuesdays, Thursdays,  and Fridays, with occasional slots with Correna on either Saturday or Sunday.  This does mean that we can usually take on a maximum of 8 puppy clients per month.

The 1-2-1 training will be for 4 sessions at the time of the chosen slot - e.g. Monday afternoons at 16:30 for 4 weeks, plus the initial training session will usually be for 2 hours on a Sunday.  The two group sessions will be on a Sunday.

Initial training sessions in your home - we usually have a waiting time of around 3 weeks for the initial session so please book as soon as possible, before you get your puppy.
